About Prof Khaled

As well as being a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist, Professor Khaled is the Director of Medical Education and Training at the Trust which runs Colchester General Hospital and Essex County Hospital.

 

Professor Khaled has strong links with The Royal College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists and has worked in different departments. At the moment he is a member of the Publication Committee, as well as StratOG. In the past he served on the Scientific Advisory Committee and the Exam Committee.

 

Professor Khaled has published many books for both exams of The Royal College (the Membership and the Diploma). He is currently the convener for Part 2 Course at The Royal College and he has wide links nationally and internationally.

 

Professor Khaled obtained his PhD in 2005 and he is one of an elite few consultants to gain this higher degree. He holds an Honorary Senior Lectural post at The University College in London. As Director of Medical Education and Training, Professor Khaled works with doctors of all grades from juniors to consultants, often in conjunction with The School of Health and Human Sciences at The University of Essex. He also has strong links with the NHS East of England Multi Professional Deanery.

 

A native of Sudan, Professor Khaled moved to the UK in 1986 to train in Birmingham and the North-West. He became a consultant in Wales and he came to Colchester as a consultant in November 2003. He became Director of Medical Education and Training in 2005.
